At Mount Vernon, all learners are encouraged to think big always, expect to fail at times, and give/receive feedback with respect. As students of all ages continue to navigate the ever-changing world around them, they are expected to watch, listen, feel, and experience, with intent.
As a result, we are closing the gap between school and life.
Beginning in Preschool, curiosity drives curriculum. In Lower School, projects inspire learning. In Middle School, exploration is the teacher. In Upper School, impact is made through passion and empathy. However, in every division, boundaries are removed, and the lines are blurred.
As a school, we seek to bring the world closer to our students by making it accessible and providing a creative environment in which to learn.
In this inaugural digital issue of MVmag – the Mount Vernon digital magazine – we want to do the same.
This issue is filled with links to external sources, videos, podcasts, and more. It is up to you to be the student – to dig in, explore, discover, and learn.
Thank you for being willing to engage. More importantly, thank you for being a part of our community.

This issue has been made possible with the efforts of Dr. Jacobsen, the Brand/Communications team (Trey Boden, Betsy Armstrong, and Cooper Fiscus-van Rossum), and with a lot of heavy lifting by our many contributors. Thank you!
